“Coaches at Bayern Munich don’t get much time to develop something” – Julian Nagelsmann

Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, has revealed the difficulty managers face when managing the club.

The current Germany head coach believes that Bayern Munich does not give managers enough time to implement their plans and develop the team.

He compared the situation to other clubs, pointing out that managers like Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool and Pep Guardiola at Manchester City were given more time to achieve success.

“I was appointed at Bayern with the aim of changing things. There are clubs that give you the time.

“Jürgen Klopp was at Liverpool FC for five years until he became champion there for the first time.

“Pep Guardiola only won the Champions League title with Manchester City after seven years. The coaches at Bayern Munich don’t get that much time to develop something,” Nagelsmann told Der Spiegel.

He feels that Bayern’s quick managerial changes limit a coach’s ability to build something long-term at the club.

Reflecting on his experience at Bayern, Nagelsmann also noted the importance of not attracting too much attention as a coach.

While he values being true to himself, he acknowledges the need to balance his personality with the expectations of the club and its values.

Nagelsmann calls for more openness in football, especially regarding managerial changes.

He requests that clubs should communicate openly when they are considering a change in coaching staff, allowing coaches to prepare and handle the situation professionally.

He believes that transparency in such matters is lacking and that the public narratives surrounding coaches sack, often differ from the reality behind the scenes.
