Clubs set for huge gains in new Champions League format

Clubs across Europe stand to gain significantly from the revamped UEFA Champions League, with increased financial rewards based on performance.

Each team will receive €18.62m simply for participating in the tournament, a €3m increase from the previous season.

Beyond this, the competition offers substantial performance-based payouts. Teams will earn €2.1m for each victory and €700k for a draw.

Additionally, clubs will be ranked, with those finishing between first and eighth receiving an extra €2m, while those finishing ninth to 16th will get €1m.

Progressing further in the tournament also brings in larger sums.

There’s €11m up for grabs for reaching the round of 16, €12.5m for the quarter-finals, €15m for the semi-finals, and €18.5m for reaching the final, while the champion will pocket an additional €6m.

A separate €853m will be distributed based on TV revenue rankings, further boosting clubs’ earnings.
