Chelsea’s Cole Palmer wins England Men’s Player of the Year

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been crowned the England Men’s Player of the Year for 2023/24.

This was announced by the English Football Association on Tuesday.

Palmer, 22, secured the top spot in fan voting, surpassing Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who finished second and third, respectively.

Palmer made a significant impact for England since his debut in November 2023.

He notably scored on his first start against Bosnia and Herzegovina in May 2024 and netted England’s only goal in the 2-1 Euro 2024 final loss to Spain.

He also provided a crucial assist in the semifinal victory over the Netherlands.

The former Manchester City player has been in exceptional form at the club level as well, scoring 22 Premier League goals last season.

He has also added six more in seven appearances this campaign.

Palmer is currently with the England squad preparing for upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland.
