Chelsea urged to send Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United after 14-game goal drought

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has advised the club to send Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United, questioning the winger’s ability to thrive in the Premier League.

Sancho, who joined Chelsea on loan after a fallout with Erik ten Hag, has struggled to make an impact, failing to score in 14 appearances.

His loan deal from Manchester United includes a mandatory purchase clause should Chelsea finish 14th or higher, with a transfer fee between £22-25 million.

With Enzo Maresca’s side currently in the top four, a permanent move seems likely.

However, Gallas believes Chelsea would be better off without Sancho.

“I’d pay the fee to send him back to Manchester United rather than signing him permanently.

He hasn’t shown the consistency we expected. Maybe the Premier League is too hard for him,” he told Spin Genie.

The former Arsenal and Spurs defender emphasized the physical and mental demands of English football.

“The Premier League is about intensity. You have to perform every game. It’s not like the Bundesliga or Ligue 1. Sancho has yet to adapt.”

Sancho’s contract at United runs until 2026, with his £250,000-per-week wages a major concern.

Chelsea currently covers £100,000, leaving United to foot the rest. If Chelsea opt out of a permanent deal, United will have to find another suitor for the struggling winger.
