Chelsea set £30-35m price tag for Chalobah after pre-season omission

Chelsea have reportedly set a price tag of £30-35 million for the sale of defender Trevoh Chalobah after omitting him from pre-season tour in USA.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s decision not to include Chalobah in the tour, despite weeks of training under new manager Enzo Maresca, is due to the club’s confidence in their defensive depth.

“Chelsea are ready to sell Trevoh Chalobah for £30/35m,” Romano stated.

“Chelsea believe they have depth in the centre-back and right-back positions; difficult decision not to call him for the US tour but the plan is clear.

“Three Premier League clubs plus clubs playing in European football have made initial contact.”

Chalobah, who has been with Chelsea since the age of eight and signed a professional contract in 2018, made his senior debut in 2021.

Despite his efforts, he has struggled to secure a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace are among the clubs expressing interest in the 24-year-old, alongside other Premier League and European clubs.
