Chelsea seek to offload Kepa Arrizabalaga after Real Madrid loan
Chelsea are looking to part ways with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga before the start of the new season, after loan at Real Madrid.
According to Mail Sport, Arrizabalaga has not been training with the first team and is considered surplus to requirements by new manager Enzo Maresca.
Arrizabalaga, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, remains the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.
To secure his services, Chelsea paid £71.6 million to Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
Despite having one year left on his contract, the club are keen to recoup as much of the transfer fee as possible under the new ownership.
Chelsea’s current goalkeeping options include Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic, who are expected to be the starters for Maresca’s first campaign at West London.
Additionally, Marcus Bettinelli and Lucas Bergstrom are still part of the squad.
