Cardi B’s thrown mic sells for almost $100,000 on eBay after Vegas incident
The microphone that Cardi B threw into the crowd during a recent performance has been sold on eBay for almost $100,000.
The Shure Axient digital microphone was auctioned off by the owner of The Wave, the production company that owns the audio device.
The auction started at $500 and received over 120 bids in about a week. The rapper had asked the crowd to splash her with water at Drai’s Beachclub in Vegas.
However, she became angry when someone later threw ice and a liquid on her, resulting in her throwing the mic.
A woman who claimed to have been hit by the mic went to the police, and Cardi was named as a suspect for battery. However, she was cleared last week by officials.
The earnings from the auction will be donated to two charities – the Wounded Warrior Project and local Vegas charity, Friendship Circle Las Vegas.
