Carabao Cup more important to Chelsea than Champions League success – Ben Chilwell
Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell believes winning the Carabao Cup against Liverpool would be a bigger achievement for the club, than Champions League success.
Despite having won the Champions League with Chelsea, Chilwell sees the Carabao Cup victory as more significant, due to the club’s current predicaments.
He acknowledges the prestige of the Champions League but emphasizes the importance of the Carabao Cup for the club’s young and evolving squad.
The 27-year-old will captain Chelsea side in the Sunday’s final at Wembley, following the absence of Reece James due to injury.
Chelsea’s recent struggles against Liverpool, including defeats in the Carabao and FA Cup finals, have added extra motivation for Chilwell and his teammates.
The left-back is spirited for revenge and views the final as an opportunity to not only lift a major trophy but also to boost the team’s confidence.
