Burna Boy loses BRIT Award to Tyler The Creator
On February 19, 2020, Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy lost the Best Male International at BRIT Award 2020 to Grammy-winning American rapper, Tyler The Creator.
On January 11, 2020, Pulse revealed that the Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Male artist at the BRIT Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone.
This also comes after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received form his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant. On the night, Burna Boy performed songs like, Stormzy’s ‘Own It’ and especially aced his performance of, ‘Anybody.’
The BRIT Awards 2020 is the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the third year running. Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.
Big winners on the night were Santan Dave, British-born rapper of Nigerian descent who took home the gong for Album of The Year. Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy and Billie Eilish.
