Burna Boy blasted as he debunks Logos Olori’s claim of using songwriters
Netizens drop evidence against the Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy for denying the claims of using songwriters following a statement made by Davido’s signee, Logos Olori.
During an appearance on City 105.1 FM, the rising singer mentioned Burna Boy and others while stating reasons for employing songwriters.
He made this statement in defence of his boss who was mocked by fellow singer, Wizkid who described him as an ‘influencer with a songwriter.’
Reacting on his X handle, Burna Boy asserted that he does not use songwriters. The international star clarified that those credited as songwriters on his songs are the producers and the move is in accordance with Western music policies.
“Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists not writers. But for some reason the western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals and they just throw their names on there as writers. Nobody fit write for Odogwu,” he stated.
It is worth noting Burna Boy once admitted that Davido’s signee, Peruzzi, wrote a song for him after which the 30BG crew member denied the claim.
Meanwhile, a social media influencer, Daniel Regha recalled the tweet where Ododwu admitted to employing the services of Peruzzi.
“Burna this was u in 2020 giving credit to Peruzzi as a songwriter, but all of a sudden nobody writes for u? For the record no-one gets songwriting credit unless they co-wrote or contributed to writing the song, so ur statement isn’t valid…👇,” he stated.
