Bundesliga: Kane matches Lewandowski’s Bayern record in 3-0 win against Hoffenheim
Harry Kane made history again, equaling Robert Lewandowski’s goal record in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win against Hoffenheim.
Kane is the second Bayern player to score 22 goals in the first half of the season, after Lewandowski set the record in the 2020/21 campaign when he scored an unprecedented 41 goals in the top-flight.
Bayern breezed past their visitors in the three-goal thriller, with Jamal Musiala netting a brace, scoring in the 18th and 70th minute, before Kane rounded it up in the 90th.
The 30-year-old England striker has been in sensational form since joining the Bundesliga side, and is now set to break the Lewandowski’s record, given his prolific goal scoring form.
Meanwhile, this season has been marked by numerous records for Kane.
He became the first player to score a hat-trick in his debut Der Klassiker appearance and setting a new German top-flight record by scoring 17 goals in his first 11 outings.
In addition to Kane’s achievement, Bayern Munich also made Bundesliga history by becoming the first team to score in 65 consecutive home games.
