Bundesliga: Harry Kane inspires Bayern Munich to 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig
Harry Kane led Bayern Munich to a crucial 2-1 win over RB Leipzig, catching the eye of England manager Gareth Southgate who was in attendance.
Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, facing a challenging season, found themselves in danger of losing their league title.
However, Kane’s two goals secured a vital win, although Bayer Leverkusen still lead the Bundesliga by eight points.
Kane’s first goal came early in the second half, as he calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner following a brilliant run by Jamal Musiala.
Despite Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko equalizing later on, Kane sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time.
With 31 goals across all competitions this season, including 27 in the Bundesliga, Kane has been instrumental in Bayern’s campaign, marking what would be an impressive debut season with the club.
Aside the significance of Southgate’s presence at the Allianz Arena during the game, it was also Bayern’s 1,000th home game in the Bundesliga.
The win was crucial for Bayern, preventing them from going four games without a win and keeping them in contention for the league title.
