Bundesliga: Bayern Munich and Al-Nassr reach an agreement for Mane

Sadio Mane looks set to become the latest player to make a switch to Saudi Arabia after Bayern Munich accepted a bid from Al-Nassr for his services.

The Senegalese, who scored 120 goals from 269 appearances across six seasons at Anfield, won every major honour with Liverpool before leaving for Bayern Munich last summer. However, his time in Bavaria looks set to come to a premature end.

Fabrizio Romano reported that 31-year-old Mane is set to become the latest high-profile player to move to Saudi Arabia, with a deal between Al-Nassr and Bayern reportedly agreed. Consequently, Mane is set to miss out on facing his former side in Singapore, with Liverpool due to face the German giants on Wednesday (August 2).

His departure from Bayern Munich will not be surprising as he failed to make a mark during the second half of last season.

The winger played 38 times for the German club last season, scoring 12 goals. He also won the Bundesliga title last season.

If the deal is wrapped up, Mane is expected to form an interesting bond with Ronaldo, whose move to Al-Nassr in December sparked a mass exodus to Saudi Arabia. Al-Nassr have also signed Seko Fofana from RC Lens, Alex Telles from Manchester United, and Marcelo Brozovic from Champions League finalists Inter Milan during the summer window.

Anderson Talisca and former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina are also part of the Al-Nassr squad.

Al-Nassr finished in second place in the Saudi Pro League last season, ending up five points behind champions Al-Ittihad.

Mane started his career at Metz before moving to Red Bull Salzburg. He signed for Southampton in 2014 before joining Liverpool two years later, where he won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.
