Bricklayer over the moon as he buys car shortly days after relocating to Canada, proudly shows it off
Nigerian bricklayer, identified as @MRBRIKILA1 on Twitter, has captured the attention of many by celebrating the purchase of a new car just under two weeks after his relocation to Canada.
@MRBRIKILA1 took to Twitter to share his exciting achievement, posting images of his new purchase car, Honda Odyssey.
His post recounted that he had arrived in Canada on a Friday and promptly commenced work the following Monday, highlighting the speed at which he embarked on his new life in a foreign land.
What makes this story even more remarkable is the sequence of events that led to @MRBRIKILA1 acquiring his new vehicle.
Having worked as a taxi driver in Nigeria, he decided to open a bank account upon his arrival in Canada.
To his surprise, the bank manager noticed his employment letter and, impressed by his prospects, inquired if he had a car.
When he revealed he did not, the manager, displaying remarkable trust, wrote him an unsecured loan of $5,000 (equivalent to over N3.9 million) to help him purchase a car.
In the man’s words;
 “Arrived in Canada on a Friday…started work on the following Monday… Went to the bank to open an account. The bank saw my employment letter. Manager called me in, asked if I have a car, I said no… Oga said winter is coming, wrote $5k draft for an unsecured loan for me. Bought this van the same week. That is my wish for all… Nigerian young graduates post NYSC.”
