Brentford manager expects Ivan Toney to leave in summer transfer window
Brentford manager Thomas Frank anticipates striker Ivan Toney’s departure from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With one year left on his contract at the end of the season, Toney has attracted interest from clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.
Following an eight-month ban for breaching gambling regulations, Toney made a scoring return to action in January.
Frank acknowledged the possibility of selling Toney, stating, “It is relatively obvious that Ivan Toney will probably be sold this summer.”
He emphasized the financial implications of selling their top player but also noted Toney’s market value, and his exceptional form at the moment.
Frank also revealed that he could have left during the January transfer market, but the club did not receive any offers for him.
Toney’s suspension stemmed from a breach of Football Association betting rules, including betting against his team.
