Borussia Dortmund emerge favourites to sign Rashford on loan

Borussia Dortmund are pushing to bring in Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United, amid financial constraints.

The Bundesliga club seriously contemplates bringing the Manchester United forward to Germany for the remainder of the season.

According to multiple sources, Dortmund have been in internal discussions about the possibility of signing the 27-year-old.

Rashford has found himself lacking game time at Manchester United under new manager Ruben Amorim.

His impressive track record, including 30 goals for United in the 2022/23 season, makes him an attractive option for Dortmund, especially as they look for a replacement for Donyell Malen, who is on the verge of joining Aston Villa.

However, the financial aspects of the deal pose significant challenges.

Rashford’s current salary, which exceeds £325,000 per week, is well above what Dortmund usually pays its highest earners.

This discrepancy means that for any loan agreement to materialize, Manchester United would likely have to cover a substantial portion of Rashford’s wages, similar to the arrangement made for Jadon Sancho’s loan last year.
