Serie A club Bologna are reportedly preparing a bid for Chelsea and Italy U21 midfielder Cesare Casadei.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport Bologna are interested in bringing the former Inter Milan player back to Italy during the upcoming summer transfer window.
While it’s unclear if the Rossoblu are aiming for a loan or a permanent deal, the club are keen on securing Casadei’s services.
Casadei, who recently completed a six-month loan at Leicester City, is reportedly tempted by a return to Serie A.
Football Italia reports that he has a close relationship with Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian, another product of the Inter Academy, which could influence his decision.
After his stint at Leicester, Casadei rejoined Chelsea in January 2024.
His former coach at Leicester, Enzo Maresca, has since taken over at Chelsea, potentially impacting any transfer decisions.
However, Bologna’s new head coach, Vincenzo Italiano, will lead the team into the Champions League next season, which could be an attractive option for Casadei.
