Biodun Oyebanji Early Life and Education
Biodun Oyebanji was born on December 21, 1967, in Ikogosi-Ekiti, the capital of his native Ekiti State. He belongs to the Nigerian Yoruba ethnic group.
He started his academic career, by attending several schools such as the Baptist Primary School in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and Awo Community High School before beginning CAC Grammar School in Efon-Alaaye, Ekiti State, in 1979.

Between 1983 to 1985, Biodun Oyebanji attended the Commercial Secondary School in Aramoko, Ekiti, and the Federal School of Arts and Sciences in Ondo State.
In 1989, he earned a Political Science degree from Ondo State University, currently known as Ekiti State University. He received his master’s in political science from the University of Ibadan in 1992.
Biodun Oyebanji Career
Abiodun Oyebanji’s career kicked off from 1993 to 1997 when he became a lecturer at the University of Ado-Department of Political Science.
From May 1999, he was Manager of the now-defunct Omega Bank PLC, now known as Heritage Bank. He is the manager of Con Dios Farm LTD and also works in agriculture.
Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has a long background in Ekiti politics, having served as Special Assistant (Parliament Affairs) and Special Adviser (Parliament Affairs) to Ekiti State Governor (8th June 1999-2000).
Hon Oyebanji served as the Governor of Ekiti State’s Chief of Staff from September 2001 to May 29, 2003, and from June 2009 to December 2010, he was the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, which is part of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
State Commissioner for the Ministry of Integration and Inter-Governmental Affairs and Director-General of Ekiti State’s Office of Transformation Strategy and Delivery (OTSD) were both positions held by the Ikogosi politician.
Oyebanji served as Secretary to the Ekiti State Government under Governor John Kayode Fayemi until announcing his intention to run for Governor of Ekiti.
Governorship Ambition
Biodun Oyebanji resigned as state SSG on December 7, 2021, to devote his whole attention to the governorship campaign.
The resignation was delivered to the Governor in a letter dated December 3, 2021, according to a statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode/
Oyebanji resigned after deciding to run for governor of the state in the upcoming election.
Governor Fayemi congratulated the former SSG for his outstanding efforts to the administration from its commencement in 2018 and wished him success in his future endeavours, according to the statement.

Several political appointees will transport him to Abuja a few days later to pick up the election nomination.
Oyebanji remarked on one of his campaign visits that Governor Fayemi and the state’s first executive governor, Niyi Adebayo, provided him with the best tutelage in governance and politics, allowing him to negotiate the difficult terrain and deliver.
