Berbatov questions Rashford’s struggles, points to off-field factors
Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has voiced concerns over Marcus Rashford’s recent dip in form.
Berbatov suggests that the issue may stem from off-field influences.
Rashford, 26, has struggled to find his form this season, scoring just once in the Premier League.
While new head coach Ruben Amorim’s arrival might provide a fresh start, Berbatov believes deeper, personal factors could be affecting the forward’s game.
“He has the talent,” Berbatov told talkSPORT, “He’s still 26 and hasn’t reached his prime.
“But something is obviously going on there, what it is, I don’t know. Is it his environment? Is it home? Is it his family? Is it his friends?
“The environment you are around outside of football is most important,” he noted.
Berbatov added, “your friends, how they’re talking to you, pushing you. They need to tell you the truth: ‘You’re playing s***, you need to be better.’”
