Benzema hat-trick sends Real Madrid through to quarter-final

Well, what a match! PSG looked almost certain to go through after leading 2-0 on aggregate at half time, thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s first-half goal, but Karim Benzema’s second-half hat-trick has sent Real Madrid through to the quarter-finals.

This is incredible, absolutely incredible. Paris Saint-Germain have been on the wrong end of some legendary Champions League results before, that goes without saying – but the way they have lost their heads like chickens has been really something.

Their all-star pack up front, the dream trio of aces led by Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar looked absolutely stunned. How they’ve let this one slip from a two-goal lead on aggregate to a last-16 exit is going to be the stuff of legend.
