Bastian Schweinsteiger reveals what Jose Mourinho did to him
A former professional footballer from Germany, Bastian Schweinsteiger, has revealed the sad encounter he had with Jose Mourinho.
According to Bastian Schweinsteiger, he was deeply saddened when Jose Mourinho barred him from accessing the Manchester United dressing room during his time at Old Trafford.
The great German midfielder spent two years at Manchester United under Mourinho.
The former Bayern Munich star, however, had a difficult period due to a lack of playing time.
Schweinsteiger revealed the information in an interview with Manchester United legend Gary Neville on Sky Bet’s Stick to Football.
The eight-time Bundesliga winner says that departed director of football John Murtough prevented him from accessing the dressing room on Mourinho’s orders.
“When I came back the first day, I came to Carrington, and John Murtough was there, and he said, ‘you’re not allowed to walk into the dressing room’ – I said why. He said that the coach said so. No warning.
“I was very sad because I really [consider] Manchester United as a second club in my heart. I gave a lot when I played.”
