Barcelona have identified Nico Williams as a key addition for their left-wing position ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Catalan giants are actively seeking reinforcements for the said wing, with no natural option available in Xavi Hernandez‘s current squad.
They are now targeting a top-level signing to address the shortfall.
While RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo has been linked with a potential return to Barcelona, recent reports suggest that Athletic Club’s star, Williams has emerged as the club’s preferred candidate.
Despite Olmo’s openness to rejoining Barcelona, Williams is currently the priority for the club’s sporting department.
Williams has been enjoying an impressive season with Athletic Club, scoring four goals with 11 assists in 28 La Liga games.
In their recent 2-0 win over Getafe, Williams registered two assists.
However, acquiring the 21-year-old winger won’t come easy, as his release clause stands at €50 million.
