Barcelona make Luis Diaz transfer priority ahead of summer window

Barcelona’s summer transfer focus appears narrowing down to Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as they search for a top-tier left-winger.
Despite ongoing financial struggles and salary cap issues, the Blaugrana are expected to make at least one major signing.
While Sporting Director Deco has played down expectations, the club remains keen on strengthening the left flank with a high-quality starter.
Previous targets, such as Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, have either fallen out of favour or become unavailable.
Meanwhile, moves for Leroy Sané or Mohamed Salah are unlikely due to their age.
AC Milan’s Rafael Leão remains a dream signing for President Joan Laporta, but his €100m price tag and inconsistency have made the move less viable.
That leaves Luis Diaz as the club’s most realistic target.
The Colombian winger, 28, is seen as being in his prime and well-suited to Barcelona’s playing style.
He is under contract with Liverpool until 2027, but renewal talks have reportedly stalled, which could play into Barça’s hands.
Diaz has also previously expressed an interest in joining the Catalan giants.
However, any potential move will depend on Barcelona’s ability to generate funds through player sales, as financial constraints remain a major obstacle.
