Barcelona keeping tabs as Napoli consider selling Kvaratskhelia
Napoli are considering selling Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia next summer if he fails to agree on a new contract.
This is according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 23-year-old winger, under contract until June 2027, currently earns €1.5m annually, a deal he accepted upon joining the club in 2022 for just €13m.
Napoli have reportedly offered an improved €6m package, including bonuses, but insists they will not increase their proposal.
A major sticking point in negotiations is the release clause, with Napoli pushing for a figure above €100m while Kvaratskhelia’s agent prefers it closer to €80m.
“We want to reward his journey at Napoli because he deserves it,” said Napoli director Giovanni Manna at the Social Football Summit 2024.
“There’s no deadline, and we are in talks. If an agreement isn’t reached, we’ll revisit the situation in June.”
Barcelona and PSG are among the clubs monitoring the situation closely.
Reports suggest that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already met with Kvaratskhelia’s representatives, showing strong interest from the Catalan side.
