Ballon d’Or, FIFA Best are losing credibility – Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has alleged that European football award Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best are gradually losing credibility.

Ronaldo who won the Best Middle East Player and the Fans Favourite Player awards at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday, has reasons to believe that Messi is not the right candidate for both prizes.

During an interview after the ceremony at Atlantis, the former Real Madrid star said, “Ballon d’Or and The Best are losing credibility.

“It’s not to say that Messi didn’t deserve it, or Haaland or even Mbappé… but the numbers are there and the numbers don’t deceive. You’ve to consider the entire season.

“The numbers are facts,” Ronaldo told Record.

Speaking about his record-breaking goal at Al Nassr, the Portuguese said, “If you go back and see what happened at Manchester United and the national team, people actually considered me lost.

“But the truth is that I focused and had a great period at Al Nassr, that’s why I scored 54 goals.”
