AS Monaco have ended their pursuit of Chelsea forward Armando Broja, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Ligue 1 side has shifted it focus to FC Metz forward Georges Mikautadze.
Despite acquiring Folarin Balogun from Arsenal last summer, Monaco is in need of further reinforcements following Wissam Ben Yedder’s departure.
Broja, also linked with AC Milan and Watford, was a potential target.
The high asking price for the Albanian international, set by Chelsea, proved a significant barrier.
Consequently, negotiations have stalled and are not expected to resume anymore.
Monaco are now concentrating on securing Mikautadze from Metz. The Georgian international has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the club, though he has publicly denied this.
Nevertheless, Monaco remains the frontrunner, with talks progressing well.
