Arteta admits it’s difficult to win Premier League

Following Sunday’s shocking defeat to Aston Villa, Arsenal’s boss Mikel Arteta has admitted its tough to win the Premier League title.

Villa stunned Arsenal with two late goals, dealing a major blow to their title hopes, allowing Manchester City to maintain their top position.

After the game, Arteta revealed if it was in another league, they would have been eight points clear with the number of games they have won.

“In any other league in the world if you won the number of games in a row that we did, you would be six or eight points clear.

“That is not the case here. That is the challenge,” the gaffer added.

However, he urged that one defeat cannot deter their aspirations, as they would stand up to the challenge.

“If one result is going to block us, that then we are not strong enough.

“If you want to win titles, when you have this moment you have to stand up.”

Arsenal’s defeat, coupled with the fall of Liverpool against Crystal Palace at Anfield, gave Manchester City the upper hand in the title race.
