Arsene Wenger names Mohamed Salah as his favorite player

Legendary Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has revealed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as his favorite current player.

Speaking to GOAL on X, Wenger initially ranked Salah fifth among his favorite footballers, alongside Cole Palmer, Vinicius Junior, and Kylian Mbappe.

However, when asked to name his top choice, he reconsidered:

“The favorite player at the moment, I think, is a guy like Salah, because despite the longevity of his career, he’s still at the top.”

Salah’s performances this season justify Wenger’s admiration. The Egyptian has been in stellar form, recording 27 goals and 19 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Despite his form, Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire in six months.

Saudi clubs are reportedly interested in signing the 32-year-old on a free transfer, but Salah remains focused on his performances rather than contract talks.

In January, he admitted to BBC: “There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see.”
