Arsenal’s title hopes suffer blow as Bowen’s header seals West Ham derby win
Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions took a hit as West Ham secured a hard-fought 1-0 win in their London derby clash.
Jarrod Bowen’s header just before halftime proved decisive, as the Hammers’ skipper capitalized on an excellent delivery from Aaron Wan-Bissaka to stun the visitors.
Arsenal’s challenge became even tougher in the 73rd minute when Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off.
The youngster initially received a yellow card, but VAR intervention saw it upgraded to red for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
Despite being reduced to ten men, the Gunners pushed for an equalizer, but West Ham’s defense held firm to claim all three points.
The result dents Arsenal’s title charge, leaving them with an uphill task in the race for the Premier League crown.
