Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos is reportedly unlikely to return to RC Strasbourg, where he spent the latter half of last season on loan.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea plans to integrate Santos into their first team next season under new manager Enzo Maresca’s system.
Santos joined Strasbourg late in the winter transfer window, seeking game time after months on the bench at Nottingham Forest.
Despite making just 11 appearances for the French side, he left a significant impression, contributing to Strasbourg’s strong season finish.
While Strasbourg were keen to retain the Brazil youth international for another season, Chelsea’s intentions to keep him in their squad have made a return to France unlikely.
Santos’ versatility in midfield is said to be highly valued by Maresca, making him a key part of Chelsea’s plans moving forward.
