Andre Onana told to quit Man United following errors
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Massimo Taibi has advised Andre Onana to leave Old Trafford if his form does not improve by the end of the season.
Onana, 28, has faced increased criticism following high-profile mistakes since joining the Red Devils from Inter Milan in July 2023.
His latest error came in a Boxing Day loss to Wolves, where he conceded directly from a Matheus Cunha corner.
According to SunSport, Taibi, who is remembered for his infamous blunder against Southampton in 1999, suggested that Onana may not be suited to the demands of the Premier League.
“Andre, you are one of the best keepers in Europe, but in the Premier League, you are underperforming,” Taibi said.
“Block out criticism, do some soul-searching, press the reset, and go again. If things don’t change by June, move on.”
Taibi claims that the intense environment at United might not be ideal for the Cameroonian shot-stopper.
“He’s only suited to the Premier League in terms of his ball-playing ability.
“For English football, you need a goalkeeper who is more imposing and uses a different saving technique.
“He would thrive in Italy or France, where his strengths would be better utilized,” he added.
