Amorim confirms Manchester United’s limited January budget amid crisis

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted the club will not have funds to strengthen the squad during the January transfer window.

This is despite mounting pressure following their fourth consecutive defeat against Newcastle United on Monday.

The 2-0 loss to Magpies at Old Trafford highlighted the team’s struggles under Amorim, who is implementing a 3-4-3 system that many players have yet to adapt to.

Speaking after the match, Amorim acknowledged the financial constraints:
“We don’t have that possibility in January.

“You know the situation better than I do. It’s not a case of arriving here and spending a lot of money to change the team. That’s not an option right now.”

Reports from ESPN suggest any potential January signings will rely on player sales or loans to free up funds.
