Alvaro Morata confirms he is joining AC Milan
Euro 2024 winner Alvaro Morata has confirmed he is joining AC Milan from Atletico Madrid, having said goodbye to his teammates.
Morata who captained Spain to a 2-1 win against England in the Euro 2024 final, is set to undergo a medical for a permanent move to AC Milan.
Despite staying tight-lipped earlier, he has now given reason for his potential move to Italy.
“I’m gonna undergo medical and then yes, I will join AC Milan.
“I said goodbye to my teammates, Simeone, the board… it’s better to part ways when you can’t give your 100%,” he told COPE, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.
The 31-year-old striker, who will turn 32 in October, played a crucial role in Spain’s victory at the Olympiastadion in Berlin last Sunday.
Morata has a release clause reportedly around €13 million for clubs outside Spain, making him affordable for Milan.
Although Juventus and Al-Qadsiah FC showed interest, Morata has committed to joining Milan.
