Alleged Ritual: Police rescue lady from yahoo boy in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected Yahoo boy in Abuja, accused of detaining a young woman for alleged money rituals.
The arrest was carried out by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a statement released on Thursday night, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the police are awaiting the formal handover of the suspect from the NSCDC.
The incident came to public attention after a video circulated on social media, showing a young woman tied up in a room. It was alleged that the man had confined her at the Top View Hotel in Wuse, Abuja, as part of a ritualistic scheme.
“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.
“The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation. Further developments will be communicated in due course,” Police PRO stated.
