Alleged Deportation: “I will arrive in Nigeria with a calvary” – Pastor Tobi

This came amid the back-and-forth speculations about his alleged deportation following a tribunal and an alleged record of financial mismanagement and misconduct.

In his response, Pastor Tobi dismissed the reports, asserting his freedom to reside in any country of his choice. He stated, “What’s my own with you? I’m a citizen of a country I want to be in because money makes you have a choice, and poverty makes you beg.”

He revealed that he had been “ambushed” during a legal proceeding involving immigration issues but claimed to have faced a rare judicial panel of five all-white judges. He also disclosed plans to release transcripts of the proceedings, emphasizing his confidence in the outcome.

Speaking about his ties to Nigeria, Pastor Tobi noted, “Why would I be afraid to come to Nigeria? The current government is doing well; anyone who says otherwise can jump off the bridge.”

He further expressed his readiness to return to Nigeria, stating that he would arrive with a team of “fine young men and women” and maintain a high standard of living. The cleric also criticized those attempting to tarnish his image, calling the allegations belittling.

Pastor Tobi Adegboyega on his alleged deportation

“What’s my own with you? I’m a citizen of a country I want to be in because money makes you have a choice, and poverty makes you beg. I was ambushed; ask anyone who has had immigration problems before if they’ve seen five all-white judges before. I did; the transcript will be out.

“I will share with you how many countries who have written to us; they want us there. Why would I be afraid to come to Nigeria? And the current government is doing well; anyone who says otherwise can jump off the bridge.

“If I arrive in Nigeria, I will arrive in Nigeria with a calvary of fine young men and women and we will live better than we’re living in our assignment ground. Two shoes or three will sustain me for three years in Nigeria which we invested in. It is belittling; that is what they want to do.”
