Alisson set to return for Liverpool despite concussion scare

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is expected to be available for selection after the international break, despite suffering a concussion during Brazil’s 2-1 World Cup qualifier win over Colombia.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the positive update on X (formerly Twitter), reassuring Liverpool fans: “Alisson will be available for Liverpool after the break, no issues despite head injury suffered with Brazil.”

The Brazilian shot-stopper collided with Colombia’s Davinson Sánchez in the 78th minute, forcing both players off the pitch.

While Alisson has withdrawn from Brazil’s squad and will miss their upcoming clash with Argentina, Liverpool have since confirmed his return to Merseyside for further assessment.

Brazil’s team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, also downplayed concerns over the injury:
“Alisson is normal. He had no memory loss or fainting.

“He was conscious and oriented the whole time. We substituted him as a precaution due to minor complaints and a potential concussion risk.”

With no major concerns following initial assessments, Alisson is set to be available for Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Everton on April 2.
