AFCON Qualifiers: Remo Stars boss appointed Super Eagles assistant coach for Benin, Rwanda clash
Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has been appointed as an assistant to Super Eagles interim head coach Austine Eguavoen.
The duo will take charge of the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers double against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Ogunmodede, a respected figure in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has been instrumental in Remo Stars’ recent success, guiding the club to second-place finishes in the last two seasons.
His impressive work at the club earned him a new three-year contract with the Sky Blue Stars last month.
Eguavoen will lead the Super Eagles in both matches, with Ogunmodede providing crucial support on the sidelines.
The first match against Benin Republic is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The team will then travel to Kigali to face Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium next Tuesday.
