Adeyemi on target as Kane’s Bayern title hopes shattered by Dortmund in historic win
Borussia Dortmund emerged victors with a rare away win against Bayern Munich, sealing a 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena.
Dortmund from the start, showed willingness to win the game, as Karim Adeyemi capitalized on a pass from Julian Brandt to put the visitors ahead in the 10th minute.
Bayern made efforts to respond, including an opportunity for Harry Kane, but Dortmund’s Mats Hummels keep making crucial clearances, including one that denied Eric Dier.
Dortmund continued their form in the second half, with Felix Nmecha coming close to doubling their lead, only to be denied by Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.
Despite some technical changes by Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund remained strong in defense and dangerous on the counterattack.
As the game entered its final stages, Dortmund sealed their victory, as Sébastien Haller set up Julian Ryerson to slot home from the right.
Just minutes before full time, Kane’s consolation goal was disallowed, handing the visitors a clean sheet.
The victory marks Dortmund’s first away win against Bayern in nine attempts, strengthening their position in the race for a top-four finish in the Bundesliga.
With Bayer Leverkusen extending their lead at the top of the table by 14 points, Bayern’s hopes of retaining the Bundesliga title are now in doubt.
