Adesanya surprised his Nigerian-brother KSI was not announced winner in Tommy Fury’s bout
UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya has expressed shock that KSI was not named winner in bout against Tommy Fury.
Adesanya is convinced that his Nigerian-brother KSI, won the controversial Saturday night fight against Tommy, Tyson Fury’s younger brother.
KSI, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, faced Tommy Fury in a highly-debated match in Manchester, which resulted in a unanimous decision victory for Fury.
However, the outcome of the fight has since sparked debate, with many questioning the judges’ decision.
Adesanya has weighed in on the situation. Sharing his opinion on his YouTube channel, the Stylebender said, “I think KSI might have taken it, man. I’m not a judge, but I think with the point deduction as well, I think he (KSI) won this.”
He added, “Just looking at it as a fight, I thought KSI won. But hey, boxing…actually no, judges.”
The fight had an unusual turn when it was initially announced as a “majority decision” victory for Fury but was later corrected to a “unanimous decision” after a judge’s scorecard was calculated incorrectly.
KSI have also expressed his frustration at the decision, insisting he had won the fight, referencing Tommy’s point deduction during the match. He has also opted to appeal the matter.
