AC Milan shift attention to Morata after Man United hijacked priority target Zirkzee
AC Milan have shifted attention towards Alvaro Morata after Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee appears set for a Manchester United switch.
The Rossoneri had initially shown keen interest to bring in Zirkzee as the ideal replacement for Olivier Giroud, but the 23-year-old Dutch striker is now reportedly close to joining the Premier League giants.
According to reports, Manchester United secured Zirkzee’s move by offering his agent double the commission AC Milan proposed.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan’s senior advisor, reportedly declined to match this offer.
With Zirkzee likely to don the Red Devils’ jersey, AC Milan have turned it attention to 31-year-old Alvaro Morata of Atlético Madrid.
Morata is expected to leave the Spanish capital this summer, with several clubs including Juventus, Roma and Saudi’s Al-Qadsiah on his radar.
