Barcelona eye De Paul as replacement for Injured Gavi
Following Gavi’s ACL injury while on international duty with Spain, Barcelona are reportedly eying Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul.
Gavi suffered a torn ACL and meniscus damage during Spain’s Euro 2024 qualification match against Georgia.
With the 19-year-old facing an estimated recovery period of seven to nine months, Barcelona is looking to explore the January transfer market to fill the void left by the young midfielder.
According to reports from Italian outlet Calciomercato, De Paul, who has been a target for Juventus, could be an ideal candidate.
The 2022 World Cup winner is said to be available for around €35 million.
This new development could pose a challenge for Juventus, who have been actively pursuing De Paul for a while now.
The Italian club is in need of midfield reinforcements, especially after the lengthy bans imposed on Nicolo Fagioli and Paul Pogba earlier in the season.
