Thiago Silva hints at retirement
Chelsea defensive guru Thiago Silva has hinted that his retirement from professional football is no longer farfetched.
In an interview with Sky Italia, the Brazilian defender said, “The end of my career is getting closer… it’s not easy.”
Silva also talked about his future plans, saying, “You’ve to think about when you want to retire, where do you go as final club, the family, my kids play at Chelsea…”
Meanwhile, the player’s current contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Silva joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian has been a key player for Chelsea since his arrival and has helped the club win the Champions League in his first season.
Talking about Chelsea’s performances this season, Fabrizio Romano quoted Silva saying, “We have new manager — we need time to improve. Under Poch we train stronger, we run more.”
