Jordan Torunarigha proud to make Super Eagles debut against Mozambique

The 26-year-old said it has been his wish to represent the three-time African Champions

Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha has expressed his excitement making his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Torunarigha shared his excitement in a social media post, expressing his pride in donning the Super Eagles jersey.

He was involved in the Eagles recent friendly against the Mambas of Mozambique in Portugal, where the Nigeria team won 3-1.

The 26-year-old said it has been his wish to represent the three-time African Champions.

Torunarigha was included in the starting lineup by coach Jose Peseiro, and was given a chance to show himself in 75-minute, replacing Calvin Bassey.

The defender, whose father is the former Super Eagles defender Ojokojo, had previously represented Germany at various youth levels but decided to make the switch to Nigerian.

The player will now hope for a spot in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, as well as the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers starting this November.
