“I once begged Rema to show my music to Don Jazzy for N1M” – Khaid
Talented singer, Khaid, shares his journey as an aspiring artiste while recalling how he pleaded with his colleague, Rema to help him by showing his freestyle video to the music executive, Don Jazzy.
Khaid, who is currently under the banner of comedian Sydney Talker‘s label, Neville Records, made this known during a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.
According to the singer, he had made efforts during his struggling days in the music industry in hopes of securing a contract with Mavin Records.
Khaid explained that he was so determined to make it that he was even willing to offer Rema his first one million Naira if he could facilitate his record deal with Mavin Records. However, he lamented that his messages to Rema went unanswered.
“Rema if you are seeing this, please take heart. I actually went to Rema’s [Instagram] DM one day with my old account and sent my freestyle video to him. I said, ‘Bro, I know that you trap like me. Please, help me show this video to Don Jazzy. Let him sign me so that we will be in the same record label.’
“He didn’t see the message. At that time, I was texting him with all emotions in me, bro. I was texting him with prayers. I was willing to give him my first 1 million,” he stated.
