Serie A: Renato Sanches faces two-weeks recovery period due to thigh injury
Roma’s midfielder Renato Sanches is set to spend the next two weeks on the sidelines as he recovers from a first-degree lesion in his thigh.
The injury occurred during Roma’s recent 2-1 victory over Sheriff. The Portuguese midfielder was substituted off during the match, and subsequent examinations confirmed the thigh lesion.
As a result, Sanches will be unavailable for at least two weeks and will miss several crucial games for the Jose Mourinho team.
Sanches who is on loan at Roma from PSG, has already endured muscle problems that caused him to miss two previous games for the Giallorossi this season.
The current injury compounds his challenges in finding consistent playing time, especially as the midfielder was beginning to integrate into the team.
Sanches has started two games for the club this season and played a total of 98 minutes.
Roma will now have to cope without Sanches in their upcoming matches against Torino, Genoa, Frosinone, and Cagliari in Serie A, as well as the Europa League clash against Servette.
