EPL: Jadon Sancho won’t be Missed – Erik ten Hag
Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that the absence of Jadon Sancho from the squad will not affect the team
Gistreel gathered that Sancho has been omitted from United’s lineup for their clash against Brighton today and was also required to train alone after a social media dispute with Ten Hag.
The rift began when Ten Hag attributed Sancho’s exclusion from the squad during their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal to poor training performances. The winger swiftly took to social media to refute this claim which has now been deleted.
During a press briefing on Friday, Ten Hag was quizzed on the possibility of Sancho featuring in future matches, the Dutch manager cryptic, stating, “I don’t know. We have a big game and we’re going into a new block of games, many games in a condensed program. I will focus on that.”
Ten Hag also suggested that this wasn’t an isolated incident, hinting that Sancho had been disciplined a couple of times because of his behavior previously. “It has never been when someone makes one mistake,” he emphasized. “It’s a whole process before you come to a certain outcome about strict lines.”
The Manchester United boss seemed unfazed by Sancho’s absence, expressing confidence in the squad’s depth. “I think we have constructed the squad smartly,” said Ten Hag. “We have many options there, so I don’t worry about that. We have options to play there.”
Other injury updates from the manager revealed that United will be without Antony, who is dealing with allegations of physical assault, as well as Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, and Sofyan Amrabat due to various degrees of injuries.
