Simi Early Life

Simisola Bolatito was born on April 19, 1988, as the last of four children to Oladele Ogunleye in Ojuelegba.

Simi disclosed in an interview with Juliet Ebirim of Vanguard newspaper that her parents divorced when she was nine years old.

She also revealed that she was raised as a tomboy and that her father died in 2014 from unclear causes.

Simi grew up dancing and singing in her local church choir, and she also admitted to being spoiled as a child, receiving everything she desired on a silver platter. She wrote her first song when she was ten years old.

The young lady attended Stars International College, a secondary school in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and Covenant University, where she majored in mass media.

Career

The release of Simisola’s debut studio album, Ogaju, in 2008 marked the beginning of her professional music career. Ogaju featured songs like “Iya Temi” and “Ara Ile.”

Samklef was in charge of the entire album’s production.

Simi released another five-track EP called Restless. In January 2014, her performance was so good that she landed a record deal with X3M Music, which most likely marked the beginning of Simi’s net worth accumulation.

The EP is largely made up of versions recorded by well-known performers from other countries, such as Rihanna’s “Man Down” and Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain.”
