At the 2023 BET Awards held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Tems emerged as winners.

The event, held on June 26, 2023, commemorated 50 years of Hip Hop and featured remarkable performances by rap legends such as KRS1, Big Daddy, and Fat Joe.

During the show, Nigerian sensation Davido took the stage, captivating the audience with his chart-topping single “Unavailable.” This marked the second consecutive year that an Afrobeats artist performed at the main event, following Fireboy‘s performance last year.

Burna Boy was honoured with the Best International Act award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the global music scene. Additionally, Tems secured the Best Collaboration award for the second year in a row, acknowledging her remarkable contributions to Future’s track “Wait For U”.
