Abdullahi Sule is a Nigerian politician, engineer, businessman, and entrepreneur from Nigeria who was born on December 26, 1959. On the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), he was re-elected as Nasarawa State’s governor to serve till 2023.

Abdullahi Sule Early Life
He was born at Gudi Station, Akwanga-West Development Area, Nasarawa State, on December 26, 1959.
He went to Gudi Station’s Roman Catholic Mission (RMC) Primary School in 1968.
He enrolled in the Zang Secondary School in 1974, and the Government Technical College in Bukuru in 1977.
Following the completion of his secondary education, he enrolled at Barkin Ladi’s Plateau State Polytechnic in 1980.
He afterwards travelled to Terre Haute, Indiana, on a scholarship to attend Indiana University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical technology and a master’s degree in industrial technology.
Abdullahi Sule Career
In 1985, Sule returned to Nigeria to work for the Plateau Utilities Board as a youth corps member.
He was hired in 1985 by the Jos Steel Rolling Mill as a Production Engineer.

Sule worked for several businesses (including Lancer Corporation, OEM component, and Osyka Corporation) after coming back to the United States in 1989 and going back to Nigeria in 2000.
Upon his return to Nigeria, he co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited in Lagos and rose to the position of managing director and CEO.
Sule was appointed CEO of AP in 2001 after the company’s acquisition proposal for African Petroleum (AP) Plc was thriving under his direction.
On June 21, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. appointed Abdullahi Sule as the company’s substantive Group Managing Director (GMD), before his 2018 run for governor.
He won the Nasarawa State All Progressive Congress governorship primary on October 1st, 2018.
Following the Nasarawa gubernatorial election on March 9, 2019, Engineer Abdullahi Sule was named the state’s new governor on March 10.
Sule was sworn in as Nasarawa State’s governor on May 29, 2019. The election for governor of Nasarawa was won by Abdullahi Sule.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Gov. Abdullahi Sule, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Nasarawa State, the winner.
Prof. Ishaya Tanko, INEC’s State Collation Officer and Returning Officer made the pronouncement on Monday in Lafia at the Nasarawa State Collation Center.
According to the INEC returning officer, the candidate for the APC received 347, 209 votes total, defeating David Ombugadu, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 283, 016 votes.
