Kaduna, PDP mourn as lawmaker dies 3 days after inauguration of 10th State Assembly
The people of Kaduna state and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been thrown into mourning as a member representing Chikun Constituency in the Kaduna House of Assembly, Madami Garba Madami, died on Saturday, a few days after his inauguration.
Madami was said to have died in a hospital where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
His death was confirmed by a traditional title holder from his constituency(Chikun), Ibrahim Sale, the Ardo Ardodin.
The state Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has commiserated with the family and Chikun Constituency while expressing shock over the death of the lawmaker whom he noted was known for promoting peaceful coexistence.
Uba prayed that “God grants the soul of Madami eternal rest and comfort his family, associates, friends, and constituents he left behind.
“In his lifetime, Madami, served as Member, representing Chikun Constituency, in the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area; Commissioner of Planning and Budget and Special Adviser Political, to Late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.”
